Sara Saeidi

Sara Saeidi (b. 1987, Iran) is a London-based interdisciplinary artist, designer, and art historian whose practice spans textiles, fashion, painting, and installation and graphic design. Rooted in Persian cultural heritage and shaped by contemporary artistic expression, her work explores the intersections of art, history, material culture, and identity. Drawing inspiration from Iran’s rich artistic traditions, Sara reimagines historical motifs, intricate patterns, and traditional craftsmanship through a contemporary visual language. Her practice reflects an ongoing dialogue between past and present, transforming elements of cultural heritage into new artistic forms that celebrate both continuity and innovation. Born and raised in Iran, Sara began her artistic journey with painting before pursuing studies in textile and fashion design. She later earned a Master’s degree in Art History and Archaeology from SOAS University of London, where she further developed her interest in the historical and cultural significance of artistic traditions. Her academic research continues to inform her creative practice, bringing together historical scholarship, material exploration, and contemporary design. With over twelve years of professional experience, Sara has led and contributed to creative projects across the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, and Iran, collaborating with more than 100 companies in Iran. Her work is characterised by a distinctive approach to colour, composition, and ornamentation, combining historical influences with contemporary aesthetics. Beyond her studio practice, Sara is actively involved in cultural education, artistic collaboration, and public engagement. She has organised and facilitated creative workshops and cultural events, sharing her knowledge of design, traditional techniques, and artistic heritage while supporting emerging designers. Her professional experience also encompasses museum curation, heritage interpretation, and event coordination, reflecting her commitment to connecting audiences with art and cultural history.

Sara is also a Trustee of the Persian Bloom Foundation, a UK-registered organisation dedicated to promoting Persian music, art, and cultural heritage. Through this role, she supports cultural initiatives that encourage artistic exchange, preserve traditions, and create meaningful connections between communities.

At the heart of Sara’s artistic practice is a fascination with the relationship between memory, cultural identity, and visual expression. Through a thoughtful synthesis of historical research, craftsmanship, colour, and experimentation, she seeks to reinterpret inherited artistic traditions and explore their relevance within contemporary visual culture
